On Saturday, November 5, 2017, the Junior League of San Jose celebrated 50 years of community service to the San Jose community. Over the past half-century, the Junior League of San Jose, or JLSJ for short, has contributed over a quarter of a million volunteer hours to the local community, as well as presented numerous grants to local community projects and non-profits. It is amazing to see how much a group of talented, hard-working, and dedicated women can achieve when the common goal is for the good of the community.

As a sustainer of the Junior League of San Jose, I am so proud of all the accomplishments the league has made throughout the years. It is truly amazing, and humbling, to see the fabulous community service projects JLSJ has developed over the years such as the Georgia Travis Center, InnVision, The Wonder Cabinet, and more; much, much, more! All of this hard work and dedication throughout the years was celebrated over the weekend at Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose.

The event included a speech and an award from the Major of San Jose, as well as a video depicting all of the accomplishment JLSJ has made over the past fifty years. Loved it!

It was fun to see a recap of all of the community service projects JLSJ has contributed to over the years, as well as catch up with old friends.

The dinner was  beautiful, complete with show-stopping floral arrangements. Dinner was followed by a yummy dessert buffet, and of course, dancing! It is entirely possible I danced in my 4″ heels for roughly 40 minutes. Yes, my feet hurt the next day, but it was so worth it!

If you would like to learn more about the Junior League of San Jose, and all of the wonderful community work we do throughout Silicon Valley, please visit jlsj.org.

Here’s to 50 more years of service in the San Jose area!

How to wear fall clothing when it’s hot outside

black jumpsuit fall 2016how to dress for fall when its hot outsidenew york fashion week street style nyfw street style handbagsnyfw street stylehow to wear a jumpsuit for fall nyfw street style show

Pictured: earrings / Chanel sunglasses / lipstick / necklace / jumpsuit / bracelets (old, similar style here) / handbag / nail polishbooties (super comfy!)

Day one of New York Fashion Week was an extremely busy day for me. I had back to back shows throughout the day starting at 9am, and ending at 9pm. I saw Nicholas K, Concept Korea, Supima, Fashion Palette, Michael Costello, Desigual, Marissa Webb, Cynthia Rowley, and The Art Institutes. Whew!

Since I knew ahead of time how busy my schedule would be, I planned on wearing this comfortable jumpsuit. It is a fall item, yet it is cool enough to wear in ninety degree weather with humidity. An oh, the humidity! It was brutal, very, very, brutal.

Normally for New York Fashion Week in September, I wear cute high heels. With all the standing in line at fashion week, walking to and from shows, and rushing from show to show, my feet get beat up. I decided to go a different route this season and wear comfortable booties with socks for extra padding. This was a great plan! These booties are super comfortable, and they allowed me to get though the day without killing my feet. Happy feet = happy me. Love that!

If you are looking for a go-to outfit this fall which is comfortable and perfect for busy days, this jumpsuit and booties is it! You can find the jumpsuit online here, and these super comfortable booties are online here. It is easy to add color to this outfit, or play up the black with white stitching like I did by pairing similar accessories.

Stay tuned! I have tons of coverage from New York Fashion Week coming up on my social  media channels, and here on the blog. Spring 2017 is looking fabulous, and I hope you will love it!

Thanks for stopping by!

XOXO

I own several pieces from Free People. Thier clothing is high quality, and wears, and washes, well. This is important when you love a piece and wear it over, and over again! The fall collection at BCBG Santana Row reflects the current metallic trend, shades of blue trend, berry hues color trend, and 1970s influence. Think sophisticated ’70’s, that is fall at BCBG.

I am a huge fan of BCBG clothing. Their clothing wears well and is made from high quality fabrics with excellent craftsmanship. All of their clothing is a great investment and lasts for several seasons. BCBG reflects trends without being one-season-wonders. The styles embody classic flare with a nod to modern trends. This is what makes their clothing so perfect for the office, and anytime you needs to look your best.

The fall season is all about embellishments, and metallics. Kendra Scott has a large selection of every metal hue you need for fall. Their bold rose gold, silver, and gold pieces work perfectly with fall’s hottest trends; and enhance any metallic piece you are wearing whether it is an article of clothing, a handbag, or fabulous pair of shoes.

I own quite a bit of Kendra Scott jewelry and love every piece I own. They are extremely well-made, and the prices are moderate. In fact, I feel like you get a lot of bang for your buck with Kendra Scott jewelry. The mixed metal pieces from Kendra Scott’s fall 2016 collection are distinctive, on trend, comfortable to wear, and match every fall ensemble you can think of. Love!

Embellished handbags are the hottest trend to happen to handbags since the bucket bag. The fall 2016 season is all about embellished handbags. When looking for the perfect handbag this autumn season, look for painted bags, studs, artistic hardware, interesting silhouettes, shoulder bags (saddle bags to be specific), and single top handle satchels. If you really want to wow the crowd this fall season, look for the newest IT bag on the street, the Gucci Dionysus.

That’s right! the Gucci Dionysus is the new IT bag, and everyone needs one in their closet. Gucci at Santana Row has a large selection of large, small, and mini Dionysus handbags in stock right now. They have a good mix of simple styles, as well as painted and embellished styles. The Gucci Dionysus handbag of your dreams is in stock at Santana Row! Love! I am eyeing the blue one, isn’t it beautiful!
