Christian Louboutin Trouble in Heaven parfum review

Christian Louboutin creates the hottest high heels on Earth; let’s be frank. When he introduced nail polish, followed by lipstick, a few years ago, his beauty collection mirrored his footwear; allowing women to to feel beautiful, and anything-but-understated, from head to toe. So this season when he introduced fragrance, expectations were high.

Christian Louboutin Trouble in Heaven parfum is one of three new perfumes from Christian Louboutin. All three perfumes are heavy, sensual, and not something you would wear to a job interview; let’s be frank again!

I had to own one of Christian Louboutin’s new parfum’s. If I could afford all three, I would have gone for it! Alas, a girl only has so much cash, so one parfum it was! I chose Trouble in Heaven parfum because it seemed to have been the warmest, and spiciest of the three scents. I love warm and spicy!

Trouble in Heaven parfum combines main fragrance notes of iris, Patchouli, amber, and Tonka Absolut which creates a sophisticated, intoxicating, warm, and heavy fragrance experience perfect for evenings, cold weather, and special events. Love!

Top notes: bergamot, cascalone

Middle notes: rose boutin, iris firabs

Base notes: amber, patchouli, tonka absolut, labdnum

When I first sprayed Trouble in Heaven on my wrist, there was a swirl of fragrance notes laced in patchouli. It took about five minutes to settle down into a beautiful, smooth Patchouli scent with a faint floral hiding in the background. The Tonka Absolut is what smooths down the Patchouli, making it calm, and spicy, at the same time. While the Amber is hard to detect, it is working in the background to keep the fragrance experience warm, and sensual. Amber has a habit of doing that when it is in the base, and not the heart. 😉

Christian Louboutin Trouble in Heaven parfum is a heavy scent, reminiscent of the trail-leaving perfumes of the 1980s. This is a mysterious, attraction-getting scent. It is the ideal fragrance to wear to formal events, gala celebrations, date nights, and anytime you want to stand out in the crowd. Love it!

There is more to Christian Louboutin’s new fragrance collection than heavy, intoxicating perfumes. There is the packaging. Leave it to Christian Louboutin to push the boundaries of beauty product packaging!

First he gave us an upside down, spiky high heel which doubles as a weapon for painting our nails. Then, Lououtin gave us another sharp, weapon-like object for painting our lips. Now,Louboutin has strayed from possible TSA disapproval into the realm of pure artwork.

The parfum bottles are twisted glass with a central aperture. The internal loop of the bottle creates a vision of the liquid being alive. The twists and turns in the glass catch light, making the liquid and glass combine to seem fiery; evoking a sense of luxury (diamond-like fire), and fire (the intoxicating, heavy scent).

Christian Louboutin left no detail unturned when he also added a magnetic cap to his parfum bottles! Yes, that’s right, no fiddling to get the cap on straight! It automatically makes itself straight due to the magnetic force within the cap. It is the easiest bottle to keep looking beautiful when stored! This is also a detail which helps when you are in a rush getting dressed. How many times have you fiddled with a bottle cap when you just need to get out the door? My hand is raised high! Thank you Christian Louboutin for thinking of this detail!!!

Lastly, did you notice I labelled this “parfum” and not EDP or EDT? That’s right! Christian Louboutin did not fool around with his fragrance collection. He did not dilute a drop to stretch his parfum into more bottles. This is parfum, not eau de parfum, and he did not raise the price to reflect this. The pricing is actually extremely low for parfum! I had to read, and re-read the packaging to make sure I was reading it correctly. This is pricing for EDP, not parfum. Who ever thought Christian Louboutin would give you tons of bang for your buck?! Love that!

Although Trouble in Heaven is my favorite of Christian Loubouin’s new parfum collection, if I had the extra cash, I would have purchased all three. They are all fabulous! I am giving Christian Louboutin Trouble in Heaven parfum five out of five stars!

Happy National Lipstick Day 2016! In honor of lipstick everywhere, I thought it would be fun to share my favorite lipsticks of the moment, as well as one fun fact about lipstick!

Fun fact: “Egyptians like Cleopatra crushed bugs to create a colour of red on their lips.” (Source Google via Wikipedia)

Can you imagine wearing crushed bugs on your lips? I can’t. Ew! It is incredible to learn what women did for fashion in ancient times. Who knows, maybe someday future humans will look at our high heels as some sort of weird torture device. Ha! But I digress. . .

I am a huge fan of pink lipstick, and soft brown lipstick. I prefer matte, and sheer lipsticks, over cream; and I always look for a blue based shade, they help make teeth look whiter. Love that!

Fall 2016 is all about red nail  polish, and red lipstick. I am not a big red lipstick person, or red nail polish fan, so I will be skipping this trend in favor of my tried and true pink or brown lipstick hues. For the end of summer, and early fall, the lipsticks pictured above will be my go-to shades.

I definitely reach for Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Rosa the most, with Chanel Melancholie being my next go-to lipstick. Chanel Mighty, and Energy, were my go-to lipsticks earlier in the spring season, but they have both gone missing! I suspect my daughter has snatched them up; she is famous for stealing my nail polishes. I need to watch her more closely. .

Last week, I bought MAC Fabby, and Charlotte Tilbury Kidman’s Kiss for transitioning into the fall season. Watch for upcoming reviews of these two lipsticks. I’m really excited about these two colors, and the formulas are fabulous!

What are your favorite lipsticks? Happy National Lipstick Day 2016!

Christian Louboutin has not one, but two nail polish collections for the spring 2016 season. The Christian Louboutin Hawaii Kawaii collection features two separate coffret’s; Collection I and Collection II.  I decided to go with the Christian Louboutin Hawaii Kawaii Collection I nail polish coffret for spring 2016 since it contained a fabulous bluish-green nail polish hue named Batignolles.

If you have been following along, you may have noticed I love Christian Louboutin nail polish after it is applied. I find the brushes to be too thin to paint with; it makes nail polish application awkward. After a few tries, I figured out how to use the brushes, and have found it worth the effort to use the thin brush since they result in beautiful nails. Since the special edition coffrets contain mini nail polish bottles instead of full size bottles, the brushes are even smaller! Ugh!

Don’t get me wrong, despite my annoyance with the thin applicator brush, I love how long lasting Christian Louboutin’s nail polishes are. I also love the color saturation! For spring 2016, Christian Louboutin has delivered on his two nail polish coffrets, giving nail polish fans the ultimate in color saturation, playful hues, and that Hawaiian vacation feeling! Love!

The Christian Louboutin Hawaii Kawaii Collection I nail polish coffret for spring 2016 offers three fabulous hues which instantly transport you to the beautiful Island of Kawaii. The coffret includes “Very Prive,” which is a dark, yet vibrant red nail polish hue that is sure to turn up the heat on warm spring nights, and summer days! The blue-green shade, which is my favorite, is “Batignolles.” The third nail polish color is “Miss Loubi” which is a very bright coral pink that would pair well with a pair of Pigalles.

Miss Loubi and Batignolles are definitely my favorite colors from Collection I. The pink in Collection II is too bright for my liking and I am not really a fan of black nail polish in the spring. I feel like Collection I is the perfect coffret for the season.

So far I have only tested out Batignolles, and it stands up to Christian Louboutin’s name! The nail polish is long lasting, and downright fabulous! I am looking forward to wearing this hue often in both the spring, and summer seasons. I am also looking forward to wearing Miss Loubi on warm days. It is such a fun coral hue! I feel like it will be perfect in the summer for beach days, warm evening parties, and general fun in the sun!
