Classic evening hard clutch for the holidays | designer or deal

classic evening hard clutch designer or deal

Designer or Deal? Classic evening hard clutch: designer IT bag version / affordable brand version priced under $100 /

Have you eyed the beautiful, classic hard clutch by Jimmy Choo over the years? I know I have! It’s a beautiful evening clutch which Jimmy Choo offers in different colors every year, while continually offering timeless neutral hues in glittering acrylic.

This clutch has enough room for all your evening essentials, and a hidden chain strap so you can sling it over your shoulder while holding appetizers at an event. While this clutch is priced within reach under $1000, there is a similar version on the market priced under $100. Sometimes it is nice to remove a zero!

This pretty little deal offers the same style as the Jimmy Choo glitter acrylic clutch, without the designer price tag. It is a well-known brand sold at one of your favorite department stores, so you know it is a safe to buy; and legitimate! I would never, ever suggest a shady copy.

If you are interested in this fabulous deal, on the perfect clutch for the holiday party season, you might want to snap it up quickly. It’s currently on sale-making it under $50 right now!

Comfortable evening jumpsuit for winter

comfortable evening jumpsuit outfit idea affordable evening clutch handbagcomfortable evening jumpsuit outfit ideaaffordable evening shoescomfortable evening jumpsuit outfit idea

wearing: sparkling statement earrings / Bobbi Brown “Lilac” / faux fur coat (last seen here) (true to size) / sparkling black jumpsuit (also avl in plus sizes) (under $90) (runs big-order one size down) / celestial evening bag (under $50) / Chanel spring nail polish / black and gold evening pumps (sold out, also love SAVE or SPLURGE)

January is one of my favorite months of the year! There are so many personal holidays for my husband and I in the month of January. This month we celebrate our fifteenth wedding anniversary, both of our birthdays; and it is also Bay Area Fashionista’s eight year blogiversary! Wooo-hoo!

These events always prompt my husband and I to go out on the town during the month of January. Since it is cold, I like to wear something which is both festive, and covers me up a bit. Wearing a little black dress in the middle of January is not my jam. I love a good pantsuit or jumpsuit when the weather drops below sixty degrees.

In addition to having a fabulous little black dress in my closet, I also think owning a chic black jumpsuit is a must-have for impromptu evenings out; and when you just don’t have time to prepare an outfit for a special occasion!

This sparkling evening jumpsuit is both comfortable, and affordable. Love that! Can you believe it is priced under $90! That is such a great price! It has silver sparkles all over the fabric; I wish I had worn this on a sunny day in order to pick up the sparkles. When we went out, it was foggy and grey. Ugh! You will just have to take my word for it; it sparkles!!!

How is January for you? Are you still settling down after the holidays? Or, do you have parties and events planned?

JLSJ fundraising gala gown and recap

Every two years, the Junior League of San Jose holds a fashion show fundraiser. There are two events held; a daytime luncheon, and an evening gala. This time I only attended the gala. Some years, I have attended both events; because they are so much fun!

The JLSJ fashion show fundraiser has a special place in my heart. From 2002-2010 I was an active member of the Junior League, and worked tirelessly on the steering committee for the fundraiser. I love how many fun ways there are to raise money at this event! There are raffles, showcases, a silent auction, a live auction, a call to action, and games!

Also, many of the retailers who show their lines on the runway will offer a percentage of sales to the league for a a few days after the event. This encourages guests to shop at, and support, our sponsors. It really is win/win!

Now, as a sustainer in the Junior League, I enjoy attending the event and seeing the fabulous creativity of the current actives. They always put on such a great show, and event. I am so proud of all their hard work! I cannot wait to find out the final numbers, and see how much we raised for our charities, and projects!

The Junior League of San Jose works hard in the community to promote volunteerism, develop the potential of women, and improve the community. The league improves the community through partnerships, signature projects, and grants for local non-profits, and charities. Now, this is a fashion blog, so let’s chat for second about my dress! I have fallen in love with one shoulder gowns; I wore a navy one to the last fashion show fundraiser in 2014! So, I decided this was the silhouette for me, but not in navy 😉

I loved all of the structural influences on the spring 2016 runways in New York, so when I saw this one shoulder gown with a metal belt, I knew it was the dress for me! Not only did it reflect the structural trend I loved from the NYFW runways for spring, it had one shoulder! Love!

My black vintage Delman’s have attended their last gala, so after two decades, I replaced them with this pair of classic, black satin pumps. I love the gold high heel! I feel like these shoes are a classic with a twist. Always fun to have a twist!

*These photos were taken with my iPhone. My apologies for the quality.

Love the collection from Azadeh shown during the JLSJ fashion show fundraiser; enjoy the final walk featuring her designs!
