The weather is starting to heat up here in the San Francisco Bay Area. This means it is time to adjust what we wear! To stay cool last weekend, I paired this 1970’s inspired denim skirt with my favorite red blouse. I love how the brass buttons on my blouse play well with these Jenny Present earrings and Donald J Pliner wedges. The metals just work.

I have also been extremely excited to get my hands on Kendra Scott’s summer collection, “Via Maya.” I am so excited for the collection, I purchased a couple pairs of earrings, a few rings, a bracelet. . .you see where this is going. Bye-bye paycheck! Every piece is worth every cent. I am in love with her summer line! This ring is my favorite. I bought the ring pictured above in both the brown pearl and abalone shell. I want the white version too; but money doesn’t grow on trees. . .so. . .if you hear of a money growing tree, let me know!

My beautiful eight year old daughter took these pictures. When we were taking pictures, she asked me if she can borrow this ring when she grows up. I think she has quite the eye for fashion! I also think she did a pretty good job taking these photos. She has an artistic eye! What do you think?

Transition to fall 2014

August is always a limbo month between summer and fall. While the weather remains hot, the clothing on store shelves suggests a cool climate where seeking cozy fabrics and textures is a must. So, while summer attire begins to look “oh so last season,” fall attire, which is fresh and inviting, is simply not practical in hot August weather!

Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we enjoy an “Indian Summer” which is defined as summer weather that continues into mid-fall; usually the middle of October. So, when I shop for fall clothing, I always look for transitional pieces since our climate is anything but fall-like!

Calypso St. Barth has a fabulous fall 2014 collection which includes so many pieces perfect for transitioning from hot summer weather to more moderate, or cool autumn temperatures. In addition, many of the pieces are tailored for warmer climates which allows the clothing to look like fall, yet offer the comfort and coolness of summer attire. Love that!

I found this fabulous short sleeve sweater at Calypso St. Barth at the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto during a blogger brunch held at the shop. The sweater is perfect for transitioning into the fall season here in the San Francisco Bay Area; as well as in many other climate’s! Since we have fog in the morning, allowing temperatures to hover around 60 degrees until the sun shines through, a short sleeve sweater, which can easily be taken off when the fog burns off, is ideal. I love this sweater since it keeps me warm while the fog is in, and then is easy to remove when the fog burns off. Love that!

This past weekend I went to Lake Tahoe with my Mom to see the Saks Fifth Avenue presents Oscar de la Renta resort 2015 benefit for the League to Save Lake Tahoe. You can read about the event here. It was a fun and relaxing weekend getaway; and it was fun to take a trip with my Mom! We both figured out that we have not traveled alone, just the two of us, since I was in college! Although I missed my husband and three beautiful children dearly, it was nice to take a break and hang out with Mom.

I love earrings with unique details and which are able to stand out from my dark brown hair. These adorable earrings from jewelry designer Jenny Present are perfect since they offer a beautiful design with small sparkling details and the color contrasts nicely with my brunette hair.

I am very excited to have been introduced to Jenny Present and look forward to adding more jewelry pieces from her collection to my wardrobe in the future. I especially love the “Design Your Own” jewelry feature on Jenny Present’s website! You can make a special piece as a gift  or for yourself! Love that!

Jenny Present also has bridal jewelry which is perfect for the bride as well as her bridesmaids. Now those are beautiful bridal party gifts! 😉

My Jenny Present wish list is growing. I currently have my eyes on these earrings, this necklace and this fabulous bracelets.
