eshakti denim jumper review how to wear a denim jumper denim jumper for winter into spring how to style a denim jumper denim jumper trend for spring jumper trend

Wearing: Kendra Scott earrings / Chanel spring lipstick / Gap turtleneck / denim jumper c/o eShakti (sold out, visit eShakti.com for more options) / faux shearling jacket (on major sale!!) / JW Anderson handbag / Kendra Scott ring / Kendra Scott nail polish / Gucci spring slides

Jumpers were a huge trend on the runways of New York Fashion Week. In addition to being a hot runway trend, fashion insiders were already wearing the trend on the streets of New York Fashion Week in September. This my friends, is a trend you cannot ignore.

When eShakti approached me to test out one of their custom fit dresses, I jumped at the chance. They have this fabulous denim jumper as part of their dress collection; and it is ideal for transitioning from winter into spring. Not to mention, it is a denim jumper which combines two hot spring trends; denim and jumpers. Love that!

There is something about a jumper which reminds me of my childhood. I went to Catholic school for a few years and we had to wear jumpers. In addition to my school uniform, jumpers were a popular fashion trend in the 1980’s, and well into the early 1990’s when jumpers transformed from thick strapped dresses over blouses into spaghetti strapped dresses over tee shirts. But there is something more grown-up about the trend this time around.

This time, the jumper trend does not have rules. You can wear anything underneath any sized strappy dress and it is “street style” approved. I love this denim jumper by eShakti since it combines the denim trend, the jumper trend, and a custom fit which is fabulous for shorter gals like me.

When you order from eShakti, they ask you where you want the dress to hit you on your leg, how tall you are, and for any modifications. For this denim jumper, the length could be maxi, midi, or mini. I chose above the knee. They also ask how tall you are, so this helps ensure the hemline hits in the right place. Works like a charm!

I wasn’t thinking about what I planned to wear underneath this jumper when I ordered it. When worn over a turtleneck, as in this post, the dress is a bit snug. Worn alone, which I plan to do in warmer months, it fits perfectly. If you plan to layer a form fitting jumper, or any jumper for that matter, order one size up to leave room for what you plan to wear underneath.

This isn’t the first time I have ordered from eShakti. I have a fun pink skirt from them I ordered a few years ago. The quality is quite good for the pricing. The fabric holds up after being washed, and the stitching stays in place. I am pleased with how well their clothing is made.

My denim jumper is sold out, but there are plenty more jumpers, including denim jumpers, in stock from eShakti. For more customizable clothing options, visit eShakti.com.

Spring stripes on a winter day

how to transition from winter into spring spring striped poncho banana republic poncho reversible poncho mansur gavriel sun totecasual late winter outfit ideawinter outfit idea two tone jeanssan jose street style

Wearing: Kendra Scott earrings / Chanel spring lipstick / Striped reversible poncho (on major sale!!) / Gap long sleeve tee in white (on sale!) / Kendra Scott ring / nail polish c/o Essie No More Film / Gap jeans (on major sale!!) / Mansur Gavriel bag (color sold out but mini patent pink version here) / booties (old, also love this pair)

Stripes, stripes, and more stripes! Stripes were the dominant pattern on the spring 2017 runways in New York last September. So it is no surprise that stripes are already everywhere. I happen to be a huge fan of stripes, so this is a trend I am riding until the bitter end!

This poncho has turned out to be a fabulous purchase. Not only does it have spring-like, nautical stripes, it is reversible! I didn’t realize it was reversible until I got it home and read the tag. The inside is a medium grey hue, which is perfect to pair with skinny black jeans, and heels, for a winter night out. Can’t wait to wear it!

Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we have winter days which offer moderate temperatures around 50 or 60. On a moderate day, a poncho over a long sleeve tee is perfect to stay warm and cozy. This poncho is ideal for moderate weather, as well as integrating spring 2017 trends into my cold weather wardrobe. Love that!

I wore this outfit over winter break when we took the kids to the Tech Museum in downtown San Jose. If you have never been, it is a must-see! It is a fun place to visit whether you are a kid or an adult. There is also an IMAX theater there which we have yet to visit. Future family outing 🙂

how to wear slides in wintersan jose fashion bloggersblack gucci slidessaratoga street stylemansur gavriel circle tote san francisco street style

Wearing: Kendra Scott earrings / Chanel spring lipstick / Banana Republic sweater (on major sale!!) / c/o Kendra Scott ring / Mansur Gavriel Circle Tote / Gap Jeans (on major sale!!) / Chanel spring nail polish / Gucci slides (so comfortable-I’m obsessed!)

So, since early fall, I have been coveting these Gucci slides. I saw them on so many fashionable feet at fashion week, and I am sure you have noticed they are splashed all over social media. There is something simple, classic, and chic about them.

Slides are all the rage in 2017. The trend started last year, but was lost in a sea of lace-up tie shoes which dominated the warm weather fashion scene. Well, in 2017, slides take center stage; so why not snap up the perfect pair! This pair is great because they are black, and have a classic look. This will allow these Gucci slides to easily transition from winter, into spring, into summer, and into fall! Love that! Plus, did I mention how comfortable they are? They are SO comfortable!

These photos were taken by my friend Dawn Lucy from Fashion Should Be Fun. If you are not already following her, be sure to follow along! She is based right here in the Bay Area; in San Jose. If you noticed, we traveled together at fashion week in September.

On this winter day, we met in downtown Saratoga for a yummy lunch. There is a Peruvian restaurant named Sipan which we thought would be fun to try. It was fun! The food was yummy, and the service was great. The atmosphere was casual chic; so very Bay Area!

After we ate, we walked around downtown and window shopped. By the time we met in late December, I was already financially tapped out from Christmas shopping; window shopping was all I could do! haha

These Gucci slides were great for walking around town. They were comfortable, and they never slipped off my feet. I have to admit, I was a little concerned about wearing slides. When they were popular in the 90’s, they were known to slide right off my feet! Hence the name; “Slides.” Ugh. Thankfully, this pair seemed to magically stay on my feet, so I could comfortably walk around without worrying about losing a shoe. Love that!

Have you tried wearing slides now that the trend is getting hot? How have they worked for you?
